If you are interested in a triple version of Box the Compass, I’ve got one I wrote:
Box the Compass Triplet
Triplet, middle couple improper
May 25, 2016
A1 Middle couples box the compass*
A2 (Continue box the compass)
B1 Middle couple balance and swing, end facing down
B2 Bottom two couples balance the ring, circle left halfway^
Top two couples balance the ring, circle left halfway
* Box the compass is contra corners except that one goes to all four corners. The middle
couples, because they are crossed over to start, will have their first two corners be of
the same gender role, and the last two corners will be the opposite gender role. Of
course, because it is a triplet, if someone goes to the wrong person, unless they want the
same one their partner is heading for, things will work out.
^ Point out that as the bottom couple ciircles to the middle they can do a little flip to
face up and balance the next ring.
Note: The top couple occasionally gets into trouble if they insist on swinging along with
the middle couple as they tend to open up facing down and on the wrong side. Not sure if
it's worthwhile warning them or would only encourage impatient behavior that gets in
the way of the middle couple and may mess up the next go-round.

You're probably thinking of "Turn Everyone!" by Al Olson, with a
revised A1 of neighbor balance and swing.

Sackett's Harbor has sets of 3 couples turned 90 degrees (actually 270 degrees) to
the line of the dance and then the center couple in each set turns contra corners before
returning to the normal line of dance.

Here are two I haven’t seen mentioned yet:
Twirly Corners by Chris Page. Leads are neighbors, not partners. I have the leads be the
lower couple if nobody is out after the slice left, so they can turn with the two who are
out at the top (which may be how it was originally written, but my impression is not).
Here’s a simple one I wrote:
Ups and Downs

Improper
A1-1
Start facing down, neighbor robin on the right.
Active couple is on the ends of the lines of 4; 1s are active the first time.
(8) Down the hall 4 in line, 2s between the 1s, bend the line

I wrote the dance below in 2017. I think the B1 can be considered a contra corners
variation. I called it once or twice. It seemed to work all right and wasn’t too
challenging. I did get feedback that the spacing in B1 might be an issue. Comments

A1) Everyone dances forward, Ones passing between Twos, Twos pasing outisde the Ones, two
steps per pass, passing Neighbors 1 & 2; Swing Neighbor 3. End swing facing across to
Partner
A2) In current group of four, Ladies dosido, Gents dosido [Use dosidos to adjust spacing
as needed.]
B1) All turn modified contra corners (in which everyone is moving). Allemande R with
Partner 3/4, allemande Same-Sex Neighbor by L 1x, allemande Partner by R 1/2, allemande
the other Same-Sex Neighbor by L 1x.
B2) All balance and swing Partner. End facing new neighbors in direction of progression,
Ones with near hands joined, Twos separating a bit from partner.

Here's one by Seth Tepfer that I enjoy calling (and did, at CDSS American
Week), as it's a same-role corners featuring the robins.

A suggested mod from a dancer at AmWeek is that, rather than turning 180
degrees in place, the robins allemande right 3/4 to get to the wavy line.
If you alternated this dance, larks would also allemande right, unless you
dare a mirror corners! The robins would need to shift left one place at the
start of the corners to make it feel perfectly right, but that might not be
critical. (I've only ever called it as written.)

Utah Ree, Double Trouble and men at the End all satisfy my request quite excellently
I think Utah Reel is the one I have danced with Will Mentor calling.
When calling one of these, I would suggest having those turning contra corners to think
of their corners as 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base and home plate

D2 (16) 1s balance and swing, finish facing down
When returning from the down/up the hall, wait until the very end to bend
the line, so that the end people can
smoothly flow into the half figure 8. If people face across too early,
they may lose the flow and be unsure as to who
is supposed to do the half figure 8.

Here is another alternating dance, although just with normal contra

Oh wow do I find that baseball analogy so off putting. I'm observing that
each dancer only has two corners, so trying to think of four bases doesn't
even seem to fit for me. Apart from that I had a lot of unfortunate
experiences being pressured and bullied in the Little League baseball scene
growing up. I did not consent to participation but I had no choice for 5
years. My first coach was demeaning toward me. Sports culture in the US
is rife with elements of competitive hierarchy and toxic masculinity and I
would advise keeping those references clear of a safe contra dance space.
