Hi all,
I'm finally organizing my dance collection, cleaning up cards and paper scraps while
entering into a newly acquired Caller's Companion program.
I have a 5 contras and one Triplet that have no name, or attribution. I've tried
checking Caller's Box and CallerDB, and maybe I am just bad at it, but had no luck.
All I know is that I wrote them down because I enjoyed dancing them. Any errors are my
transcription, no intention to impugn Unknown's integrity as a caller.
Anyway, Louise Siddons suggested this group is good at this game, so, here goes:(The
program is set to use gender neutral terms, and copying and pasting is DANGEROUSLY easy!)
Any help is appreciated - even if it is "That dance doesn't work!!!"

Some of the timing of the above are off:
#2: Nils Fredland's variant of "Cheat Lake Twirl" by Perry Shafran
#4: One of the versions of Nils Fredland's "Spring Break"

A welcome consequence of Robert Fabinski’s inquiry was an email that I received this
morning from David Smukler, reminding me of the dual history of the "unknown” triplet
on Robert’s list. It is “Corner Triplet,” written by the late Linda Leslie, to whom I was
married for many years. But the dance is also “David’s Triplet 1.5,” as it was
independently written by David Smukler. I remember Linda and David talking together, years
ago (at the Ralph Page Dance Legacy Weekend, I believe), about how each of them separately
devised the dance. I’m not surprised that two skilled and thoughtful dance choreographers
dreamed up the same dance. This triplet is simple, elegant, enjoyable, and serves as a
superb tool for teaching the once-familiar “contra corners” figure. When I call this
dance, I give it both titles, and credit both authors. … Robert Golder
