I don't see a problem with changing the moves slightly for the crowd. I know that
some folks believe that the dance is just fine written as-is, and if it's too
difficult call something else. I don't think that's fair. The L allemande left I
don't think is any more awkward than the usual allemande right - it's just not
something that we don't usually do. I happen to think that allemandes are easier and
less disorienting than the do-si-do progression. The L chn, LH star progression I like as
well. For 3-33-33, not sure where you could pass thru next N DSD. You're adding
another circle to the dance that already has a circle, and many dancers don't like too
many circles.
Also, I agree with Michael Fuerst that this dance, albeit a great dance, IS called quite
frequently that it kind of lessens my fun in doing the dance.

Subject: [Callers] Do Si Do 1+1/2 (was Tampering with a classic again 3-33-33)
Depending on dance kinematics, music tempo, and crowd, naturally, but...
I can't be the only one who thinks do si do 1.5 times is often too rushed
for most new dancers?
I often change dances that end with DSD N 1.5x to Next N
To
Pass thru, DSD Next N
for this very reason.
