I've always done Sasha with the counting in Russian (and the tune sounds kind of Russian). I don't speak Russian, but when it's been taught (Becky Tracy always teaches it at Meadowlark Music Camp for the Tuesday night dance) it sounds like "ein!, svy!, try!", with the "r" pronounced more like a "d".
