You'd turn contra corners with the same dance role person I think. But then come back
to proper after the partner balance and swing. Though it doesn't really matter what
side anyone is on as there's no neighbor interaction.

I don't see what you mean. 1/2 figure 8 would leave the ones improper for contra
corners.
One possibility is:
A1 1s cast to bottom, lead up the center and cast off with the 2s.
