Walter,
I pulled up a recording of Catfish here at my desk and
air danced. I can't wait to try it out. Fun.

Hi, Seth,
Thanks for your feedback on Catfish. I hope you
enjoy it.
I have called Sadie at the Back Door in the wild.
The hey seems to
flow OK into the circle left. When the gent gets
back to the starting
side he loops around and keeps moving into the
circle, bringing his
partner along.
I'll have to find a recording of Little Nell. I
learned it from David
Kaynor and Susan Conger. It's notated in the
Portland Collection,
Volume 2.

I *LOVE* your dance Nail That Catfish to the Tree.
I was humming the
tune and the dance fits perfectly! Wow! That is
going to be one
satisfying dance/tune combination.
Sadie and theBack door
A1: Neighbor gypsy and swing
A2: Gents allemande left 1.5 to partner; partner
swing
B1: Gents start hey for 4, passing left shoulders
in the center
B2: Circle left 3 places; balance the ring;
partner California twirl to
face next
Has "Sadie and the Back Door" been called in the
wild? I love the flow
in this dance - and it's always a nice change
to
have the gents lead the
hey. At the end of the hey, are you suggesting
the
gents loop right (to
flow into the Circle Left) or left (which is the
natural hey movement,
but to make work with the circle would have to be
basically a turn
single)? When you've called it, have the
dancers
been confused by the
transition from the hey to the circle?
Little Nell
I don't know the tune Little Nell - where can we
hear it? Is it recorded
anywhere?
