Becket (cw) A1: LC; LC on left diagonal A2: Circle Left 3/4 (8); Dip and Dive 2x (4+4) (note everyone with a shadow, those facing down start diving under arch made by those facing up) B1: N Bal & Swing B2: Gents AL 1/2; 1/2 Hey across (L start L sh); Partner Swing note: the 1/2 hey across is unusual as partners are on the 'wrong' side of each other those who come off must participate where they can. i.e. A1b, A2b 4x4's like First Bloom by Al Olson have a corner swing which alternates between neighbors and a trail buddy. A man's partner will be in the couple behind him as they dip and dive. After the Neighbor swing, in lines facing everyone is opposite their shadow. From the man's point of view to the right of his shadow is the other man in the minor set who swung her, and to the right of him (in the next minor set) is his partner. The start of B2 (i.e. Gents AL 1/2 which really becomes a Left pull by), puts the Gents facing out with their shadow on the left and partner on right - the 1/2 hey brings everyone to their correct side the passing right shoulder on the outside flows nicely in the partner swing which normalizes and finishes the progression. Thanks for your interest, and any comments on how you think it will go will be appreciated. I think the transitions flow nicely, and I wanted to capture the essence of Luke's query. The ground hogs tunnel with their shadows and pop out to visit a neighbor and retreat back to partners. Unfortunately we don't have any ground hogs here in NZ. Cheers, Bill

Actually, there are two versions of P. Promenade, both by Dan Perl. The version linda posted had the two mixed up a bit. The first (and original, and still the one I call) has the B2: *B2*Circle Left 3/4 Pass Thruup and down Turn back same Neighbors LHS 1/2 to NEW Neighbors // Then Dan changed it to Circle Left 1x Pass Thru across Turn Alone same Neighbors LHS 3/4 to NEW Neighbors He changed it to tighten up the timing a bit. At the same time, though, it lost the "fake progression" of the pass thru (you think to new N) then turn back and star with your same neighbors to actually get to your new neighbors.
