A potential solution would be to replace it with a Google Group. People can choose to
receive messages via email (digest or not) or view it as a group, or both. An advantage
is that if you want to revisit a discussion it is easier.

New subject: Forum vs email list?
Today its 29 hate-the-idea, 7 like-it, 7 not sure. I'll let it go.
Really, all I wanted was a way we could vote people up, so we could give
more weight to the opinions of the especially respected folks here (and
filter the email flood down to just those people).
I wonder if there's any other way to do that?

Could you explain what it means to "vote people up?"
It sounds like one would have to be "voted up" to be able to comment.
I'm not sure I would call any of the discussions I've read flooded.

New subject: Forum vs email list?
Some forums allow comments and (directly or indirectly) users to earn
formal reputation. You mark comments (and maybe users) as good or bad,
helpful, unhelpful, etc. Over time, people who contribute to useful
conversation theoretically rise to the top while those comments and
individuals who don't show up farther down the page or in a different color
or whatever method it seems produces the most value.
My own opinion is that a forum would add value, but not act as a
replacement for this or other venues for discussion.

I'm not sure why we'd want to filter out any of the voices here.
Everyone has something to contribute, even if you don't agree with them.
I often disagree with Greg, for example, but he's also made some
excellent suggestions that I've found very helpful. And sometimes
someone we've never heard from before appears with a great question or
comment. I'd hate to miss out on those.

straight wrist, (ii) vertically aligned arm, (ii) elbow and shoulder functioning as
springs and (iv) and thumbs comfortably wrapped around each other, is giving EQUAL weight,
no matter what respect or lack of respect for the person on the other side of the
allemande.
