I recently thought of a dance that I presume has been written already, as
it is all glossary moves. Can anyone identify it?
Improper Contra
A1: Long Lines Forward, Roll Away* on way back, Ladies Chain
(* Men roll from right to left, Women half-sashey from left to right)
A2: Ladies start Hey for Four
B1: Partner Balance & Swing
B2: Circle Left 3/4, Neighbor Swing
In long lines, identify new neighbor with a gentle squeeze.

I think it's "Rolling Into the Gray Eagle" by Hank Morris. Spelling
uncertain.

Chris Page; but I also have it as "32 Seconds" by Tom Calwell. I don't
know who wrote it first.

Although both dances Rollin' to the Grey Eagle and 32 Seconds have
A1 LLF and Roll Away on the way back; LC
They differ in the flow instructions. I prefer
Rollin' to the Grey Eagle which specifies Ladies roll the Men away from R to L
which gives a nice transition to the LC.

New subject: Bubble Sort Contra Dance
I've heard people saying Will or Nils called a bubble sort contra dance. Googling
found this (semi)circle dance (http://www.jefftk.com/contras/dances/labubblesort). Will
Mentor said he danced one Nils called, but it was a contra. No word back from Nils yet.
Any one on the list seen a bubble sort contra?

I haven't seen a Bubble Sort contra, but a few years ago, kids at my school (third
grade to eighth) did Bubble Sort dances as a Problem of the Week, inspired by this
wonderful video. (The sorting begins at 0:54.)

As in the video we sorted by numbers not height, but I like La BubbleSort and might try it
at school. If I think of a way to bubble sort in a contra, I'll post it.

Well, here's a stab at a Bubble Sort contra. It's just a theoretical exercise. As
with any sorting dance, I guess, a defect is that once you're sorted you just keep
dancing with the same people. (At school we danced in small groups and kids turned their
backs and stopped dancing to indicate they knew they were sorted and would not change
places anymore.)
Sort of a Contra Richard Allen Fischer duple (proper/improper irrelevant and swings can
end with either person on either side)
A1 Balance and swing neighbor
A2 Long lines fwd & back; long lines fwd and back and if shorter neighbor is not on
the right do a roll-away with a half sashay as you come back (Shorter dancer rolls to
right)
B1 Circle left; left hand star
B2 Allemande right with next neighbor, allemande left with current neighbor
Note: (if I'm picturing it right) Do not cross over at the top! Do cross over at the
bottom!
Would this work? I think I'm just adapting Jeff and Ben's dance and squishing
their U into a contra set.

I recall one being done at Faultline Frolic a few years ago, and I posted
to their FB group. The response that I got there was that it was called by
Nils, and might be named Bubble Network. It involved doing a swing where
the end position was based on height, not dance role, such that shorter
dancers ended at the bottom of the hall and taller dancers at the top.
