Dear Nancy,
Another favorite of mine is a circle mixer (see below). There are lots
of good circle mixers out there......I find that this is a great way
to get the attendees dancing with each other. I end the dance with the
bridge and groom swinging in the middle (replacing the final
promenade). Always, always a crowd pleaser!
I have the dance written as "I Don't Know Why". No known
choreographer. I can be done gender-free; if this is the case, then I
ask the dancers to name the roles--adds to the fun.
A1 Circle left
Circle right
A2 Everyone into the center and back
Just the ladies (or those on the right, or the name given to
this position) into the center, turn around
and face to the left diagonal (the first time through the
dance, I have everyone face the one they asked to dance, and then the
next time through face left; I point this out during the walk-
through....new folks "get it" without any problem!)
B1 do si do and Swing
B2 Promenade
Have fun!
warmly, Linda Leslie

Hi All,
I followed the recent discussion of planning a dance for a
highschool audience. I'd love to hear what you consider to be your
"favorite" wedding dances for a wedding party of adults with some
dancers in the mix but not too many, where the dance will run 45
minutes to an hour. I'm looking for non-contras, accessible to all
dances.
I've got the spiral waltz and Do-Si-Three as part of my preliminary
planning.... Thank you very much Chrissy Fowler and Linda Leslie....
What else is tried and true and among your favorites?
Thanks!
Nancy Turner
