Dear friends, For many years the Dance Gypsy (http://thedancegypsy.com) has been an invaluable resource to the dance community, providing detailed information about dances, special events, bands, callers, etc. The Dance Gypsy is currently in it¹s annual fund drive but has only received about 20% of last years donations. Without a dramatic increase in support it¹s quite possible that it will go offline by the end of the year. Like a public radio stations, the Dance Gypsy is 100% user funded. And, like many public radio stations, only about 1% of the users contribute. If you have every used the Gypsy even once and found it valuable, please consider contributing. In the past, the average donation has been $31 ­ the cost of 2-3 dances - but the range has been $5-100+ and gifts of all sizes are very much appreciated. Most dance events barely break even, and people often work - play, call, organize, etc - for free or minimal pay, making it possible to keep entrance prices down.
