As a caller and/or dance composer, when mentally visualizing a dance do you put the
caller at the top or bottom of your mental simulation.
If the dance is Becket, do you put the caller off to the right or left?

I usually try to visualize myself as one of the dancers. In fact I may run through the
dance from the veiwpoint of all the different dancers to see how it works for them. I
haven't really thought about where the caller is standing.

I visualize as a dancer,. If I can I try to actually dance the dance with
"visualized" other dancers, usually do it for both roles. So I will call it out
loud, so the caller IS involved, I guess, but only as a voice, no thought given to
location. - bill

I don't understand the question. I try to visualize it as a dancer, and I imagine the
locations of the other dancers. Why would I give any thought to where the caller is?

I always put the "top" of my imaginary hall on the right, regardless of
Improper or Becket.
