Hey everyone,
I asked Bob Issac's if it was OK to share the materials that he gave me
from the callers workshop that he teaches and received permission to
share them. So attached to this e-mail are the Word documents. There is
the breakdown of "The Baby Rose" by David Kaynor that I called at
Pinewoods this summer. The Repertoire is pretty impressive. 50 basic
dances (Bob, of course, inserted a few of his own).

Many thanks, Chris, for sharing Bob Isaacs' calling materials. The
attachments all came through fine. The only odd thing for me (which may or
may not be true for those with other versions of MS Word) is that fractions
have been dropped from the descriptions of 50 dances in CDNY Repertoire.doc,
and replaced with understrokes. For example, in my "Fun Dance for Marjorie,"
the A1 should start with "Circle Left 3/4" but it reads "Circle L _"
The
second part of the B2 should be "Gents Allemande L 1-1/2."
Other recipients of the dances should check to see if their CDNY
Repertoire.doc attachment shows the same problem. If so, be sure to work out
the details of each dance before getting up to the microphone.
The comment for "Fun Dance for Marjorie" reads "After the partner
swing,
gents need to..." which sure is a dramatic pause! I'll bet that Bob Isaacs
wrote something like this: After the partner swing, gents need to diagonally
cross the set, passing by the right shoulder as they take the other gent's
former position, and turn to face in. Ladies do the same. In addition, as
the ladies pass each other, they join right hands. Then the gents reach in
to take right hands with each other, to form a hands-across right-hand star.
This is an elegant but nevertheless pretty brisk movement which I call in
eight beats, as follows: Gents - cross - ladies - cross - handsa - cross -
righthand - star.
The star is danced once around and then (with gents in the lead) partners
progress up or down the set to new neighbors, with whom the dance begins
again by circling three-quarters to the left.
Thanks go to Linda Leslie who made key suggestions while I was scratching
my head at this point while writing the dance five years ago.
I was surprised and pleased to see "Fun Dance for Marjorie" included
among so many classic contras. ... Bob

Yes, they came through broken for me too. (Good eye, Bob!) I will
work with Chris to convert the documents to PDF and resend them. That
should take care of any Word oddities.
