Thanks for your comments.
Rich, I had considered a circle left, and chose the circle right for
similar reasons as Joy as articulated. I do want to test this, particularly
asking people dancing the ladies role about the flow and/or momentum shift
they experience.
Joy, yes, I would certainly be sure to make it clear in teaching that it's
the NEXT neighbor for the roll away. Thanks for your encouragement of a
circle right, I'll let the list know how dancers respond.

Sorry if this has already been pointed out.
The advantage of circling right before the Neighbor swing in this dance is
that the Ladies lead in the circle in front of the person they will be
swinging, which is always a smoother transition than the Gents leading a
circle into a swing.
The circle right also adds a distinctive flavor to the dance that might
otherwise look a little generic.
Another detail I noticed is that in the A1, it would be helpful for
clarity’s sake to specify that the gents roll away their *new* Neighbor,
not the one they just swung.

You could just as easily circle Left 1x in B2.

I question the flow of a circle R into a swing. But I don't recognize the

A1: Long lines go forward, roll away as you go back (women moving from
left to right in front of their neighbors).
Men allemande left 1.5.
A2: Partner B & S.
B1: Right & Left Thru, Ladies chain.
B2: Circle RIGHT 1x, Neighbors swing.
Thanks,
