more weight to the opinions of the especially respected folks here (and
filter the email flood down to just those people).

I'm not sure why we'd want to filter out any of the voices here.
Everyone has something to contribute, even if you don't agree with them.
I often disagree with Greg, for example, but he's also made some
excellent suggestions that I've found very helpful. And sometimes
someone we've never heard from before appears with a great question or
comment. I'd hate to miss out on those.
Am I misunderstanding your intent?
