Hi,
I recently danced Rick Mohrs Rockin Robin at the Survivors Dance after
this years Down East Country Dance Festival. A great dance and a great
afternoon.
I am wondering about the transition from the allemande left with neighbor to
the Men pull-by by the right hand to partner, that ends A1. It seems that
the allemande left must have been for something like ¾ until the men can
meet in the middle, but I cannot remember from the dancing of it. Is that
right?

Lady Walpole's Reel is a great dance with out a partner swing. The dance is
great, the tune is great, but the tune is not the easiest to play. One of
those old dance tunes that really needs to be played up to speed for you to
really love it, and you really can't dance Lady Walpole's Reel, without the
matching tune...

Interesting dance. Coming back in at the top/bottom would be challenging. (Proper at the top-like two's, and 'indecent' at the bottom - like one's.)

I believe I've done this same non-progression call by not having the dancers turn to a new group of four for the second petronella spin. And Cary Ravitz was in the band at the time -- how embarrassing.
There's a couple of fun squares as well: Nine Pin (eight people in the square make life miserable for the ninth, then the ninth get's his/her revenge in the B part).
There's also a square dance (if you like the patter) where number one gent swings his corner, then his corner's partner's corner, then his corner's partner's corner's partner's corner, and variations thereof. At one point I believe the gent is swinging another gent, and at another point he's swinging himself. And of course the ladies can do the same. I don't know the title of this dance however.
And Gene Hubert's contra called The Odd Combination. Very odd.

As a reward on the final time through I instruct them to swing to end
