The ROM slides are always with your partner and happen across the set.
After the men allemande, dancers form a wave of 8, partner is in your
right hand (not facing). This is the point at which the dance goes
from being for 4 dancers, to including your other "trail buddies" in
the other set (the women in the two sets will need to take left hands
to make the complete wave of 8). Once the ROM balance and slides
happen, pulling by P to start the 1/2 hey for 8 then becomes more
logical.
I don't remember if anyone mentioned that the two sets dancing with
other need to be of equal length. It will work if there is an extra
couple at the bottom....but each set should have an extra couple. This
assures that you will always see your trail buddies in the 1/2 hey.

I have a question. At the end of A2 do they form long
lines to
start the B1 slides, or to they make a line of 8 across? Do the
slides in B1 go up/down or across? The statement "to a line of
people across both sets" seems to contradict "partners facing...".
Thanks, Rich
