this subculture of ours is here to spread joy.
Your words were a tonic, and I appreciated them very much.
I second your comments. Chrissy is right about
"adding something beautiful to the world." In
in 2002 Ron and Cathy Arps started bringing
dancers and musicians from the US on a NZ tour. Since then
every second year a tour comes back again.
So once every other year there was a contra dance.
Now from these seeds, three regular contra groups exist in
Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington. (Also a few
dancers got left behind, and have settled here).
Wellington is the only group to have live music.
Hopefully the next beautiful thing will be the band
starting here.
