Ah, I see what you're saying; somehow I read that wrong the first
time. That would put them facing the right direction for the see-saw
and prevent people from attempting to abruptly change direction when
they should just flow into it (and anything I can do to reduce the
amount of instruction needed is a good thing, I think). On the other
hand, the intent wasn't to have them look at their neighbor there;
maybe I'll just call it a `walk around' as you suggested it would be
called in Modern Western Square Dance (I figured it out). That way
people won't feel like they have to look at their neighbor, but will
also naturally pick up the transition.
