We certainly would in England. I would explain it as a hey for three with the ones
(usually) acting as a unit, and
first of all I would keep the ones in order, so the leader is in front the whole time.
Then I would explain that that's
not the way dolphins behave, and I would explain (or better, demonstrate) the swapping of
the lead. And add that if
that's too confusing, they can do it without swapping and it will still work and not
affect the other couple's move.
