what a great transition into a Give and take.

Well, since we seem to be in the 'mood' for
variations on a theme, here is
 one of mine.

 35 4 THE ROSENS
 Becket
 2006
Written to celebrate Bruce and Sue Rosen's 35th
 Wedding Anniversary

 A1 Circle 3/4 to a hey
 A2 Neighbor gypsy meltdown
B1 Crosstrail past current neighbor, next
neighbor balance and wrap to a
 cuddle
 B2 Give and take

 Notes:
The 'circle 3/4 to a hey' is the movement stolen
 from Mood Swings,
definitely my favorite transition, and a wonderful
 contribution by Sue to
zesty contras. To teach it I get everyone to circle
 3 places and then ask
the men to let go of their partner and do another
 step around the circle
whilst helping their neighbor bend round to face
them so that everyone is in
a line of four across the set.

The balance should be two handed and the wrap
 movement (still holding both
hands from the balance) consists of the man raising
 his left hand and moving
clockwise, passing right shoulders, to the other
 side of the woman whilst
turning the woman counter clockwise so that they end
 up facing in (same as
doing a star through) in a cuddle (as in swing or
 cajun). The old adage
that a picture is worth a thousand words was never
 truer. Demonstrate it
first and then use the words!

 Here's a little shameless self-promotion for the
 dance I wrote based
on Sue's dance. I wanted that great circle -> hey ->
 balance & swing
 interaction with my partner:

 Mood Ring Lisa Sieverts

 BECKET - sawtooth
 1. on left diagonal, circle left halfway with next
 couple, roll away
(woman roll partner from left to right)
 2. W allemande LEFT 1 ½

 3&4. NEIGHBOR balance & swing

 5. Circle left ¾, men roll partner from left to
 right
 6. ½ hey, men start by the LEFT

 7&8. PARTNER balance and swing

Here are the moves for Mood Swings:
 Mood Swings - Sue Rosen
 Improper

A1:	Long lines forward and back
on your way back roll away w/1/2 sashay
(ladies rolling to the right of their Ns along
 the set)
  	Gents allemande left 1 1/2
 A2:	Partner balance and swing
B1:	Circle left 3/4 and flatten (see note) into
 a

1/2 hey (Start pass N by rt sh)
 B2:	Neighbor balance and swing
After the circle left 3/4 in B1, use two counts of
 good connection
to bring the Gents to the outside of the set
 facing in and the
ladies to the center facing out, ready for the
 half hey. This
action makes Mood Swings a particularly
satisfying
 dance.
