You pass one new neighbor couple during the diagonal Right And Left
Thru (and don't do anything else with them), then spend the rest of
the dance with your second new neighbor couple.
Another way to see that it's a double progression (or some even
number of progressions) is to note that the situation at the top
of the set is similar in each repeat of the dance, rather than
having a couple out at the end every other time through.
