When I'm working with gradeschoolers, I often say:
"In a MOMENT, when I say GO, you're gonna do XYZblahblahblah..."
-and then explain a little, if needed-
-and then say, "OK, GO!
and if anybody starts beforehand, I say --
" Aha - gotcha - I didn't say GO yet !"
and everyone giggles.
Works great with gradeschoolers.
The problem with expert adult dancers, of course, is that they sometimes
ACT just like gradeschoolers, but then get bent all out of shape when you
TREAT them that way....
