It's not actually a short swing. You have the whole A1 to come into
the middle, swing, and get back to place. So about 12 counts of
swinging. The issue is timing, not length: unlike a normal swing,
where you swing until the end of the phrase, here you have to stop
just slightly early, perhaps 2 beats, to be out of the ones' way when
they come down the middle at the top of the A2.
