My thoughts exactly (I miss my free usenet access), but I also
disagree. If your list is configured to reject outside submissions,
you're doing it wrong (as far as I'm concerned). CCing multiple lists
is the only way to at least attempt to keep the conversation going
across multiple interested groups (note that I don't say that it's a
`good' way, just as I don't say that email is by any means a `good'
system).
Just my two cents.

P.S. BCCing lists on the other hand is a terrible thing that you
should never do! It breaks everyone's filters / folders...
