Good Idea!

To me that is what it (dance web sites, or such a
list) is about,
communication. Ultimately a web site is part of a group's communications
structure and plan, not an isolated thing.
So, yes, I'm interested. Assuming archiving is enabled I'd prefer a mail
list where the archives are available to subscribed members, vs publicly
visible.
Why not call it call communication, or comms, or comm2.0 dance2.0 It's
really immaterial, however PR it's not. <grin>
Our web site here in Santa Cruz, CA is used mostly by dancers to check on
the schedule. The stakeholders use the "internal business" section to
download and print any documents needed by dance managers, Board Members,
etc.. Some features are rarely used, such as the ride pooling email list.
I will advise our fine webmaster, Paul Franklin, about the list as soon as
it gets going. I'm sure there will be lots of interest from folks not on
this list.
Personally, I am disheartened whenever a web site includes any section that
"explains" what contra dance "is" using words. Streaming video is the
best
way to present your local dance.
