disagree. If your list is configured to reject outside submissions,
you're doing it wrong (as far as I'm concerned). CCing multiple lists
is the only way to at least attempt to keep the conversation going
across multiple interested groups (note that I don't say that it's a
`good' way, just as I don't say that email is by any means a `good'
system).
Note carefully that I said nothing about whether I think mailing lists
rejecting outside posts is a Good Idea, I'm simply referencing standard
practice in this day of spam. That means adapting one's posting habits
to the Real World [tm]...
(In previous years, I was less inclined to poke people about
multi-posting to mailing lists, which I think is a Bad Idea for other
reasons I'm skipping here. But IMO the change to reject non-subscriber
posts overrides all other arguments about multi-posting -- you're simply
guaranteed fragmented conversations these days, so there's no reason for
multi-posting anymore.)
