I am very excited about the 19th annual Ralph Page Dance Legacy Weekend
to be held January 13, 14, 15, 2006 at the University of New Hampshire in
Durham, NH. This time around, the callers will be Tod Whittemore (who was a
central figure on the New England scene before moving to Arizona years ago;
he will lead a calling workshop) and Lisa Greenleaf (who in my book sets the
standard for exceptional calling). The music all weekend will be great -
Northern Spy, Old New England, and Rodney Miller, Peter Barnes & Marko
Packard.
This year at RPDLW, a "Retrospective" session will celebrate the dances
and calling - and character - of the late Ted Sannella. Years ago, I was
fortunate to attend some of the early Ralph Page Weekend events when Ted led
the dancing. He was an extraordinary man whose gentle demeanor and strong
calling skills were a great example to me, and to many others.
If you attend, be sure to sign up for the Sunday afternoon "Open Mike"
session. Calling a dance for this group is a grand experience.

info and application materials in PDF format. You'll see that there are work
exchange and scholarship opportunities.
I'm not one of the organizers for this event. I'm simply a regular
attendee who wouldn't dream of missing this wonderful, annual celebration of
the joy that lies at the heart of New England-style dance. I especially
recommend it for all who are getting started as callers. ... Bob
