Many years ago, our local dance had a teaching session before the dance started, and we
charged less for people who arrived in that first half hour to encourage everyone to do
so. We were also explicit (and I think this made a bigger difference) that we were doing
that to encourage experienced dancers, as well as newcomers, to be there for the teaching
so the experienced folks could help.
