I blame the musicians. If they didn’t play such lively music the dancers wouldn’t be
inspired to be so joyous.

I think it was indeed Beneficial Tradition. I now vaguely remember there being a wavy line
in the dance, so that must be the one! I'm glad to learn of the triplet and XYZ dances
as well. It was hard to search for the dance since the shouting bit isn't always
mentioned in the written choreography.
