I frequently solicit requests - sometimes for a week or so before I call - sometimes near
the end of the first half - before the break I ask for suggestions for the second half. I
like to have the dancers feel they have a say in what is presented. If I ask far enough
in advance - I will get a couple suggestions. During an evening that rarely happens.
Sometime I will notice a dancer in the hall that has previously asked for a specific dance
- so I will substitute that in (especially if it is one I like calling).
If asked - I always try to honor requests and acknowledge the requester - unless there is
a really good reason why I can't.

Subject: [Callers] Request about requests
I'm curious -- how do you handle requests?
That is, at an event when a dancer or an organizer comes up to the
stage and asks you to do a particular dance or type of dance?
