Paul,
Here is a link for the system I use in Stafford. It is a good system and
does have a separate monitor channel. I use a 10" speaker as a monitor and
the two 12" speakers as the mains. The main speakers have optional
protective covers that do not need to be removed during use. I have used
mine for three years without a problem.
If weight is a main concern, then 10' speakers could be used as the mains.
The three channel powered mixer is very light.
I strongly advise against the wireless channel add-ons.

Thanks Rich
I’ll pass this on to them. It probably will not be acceptable because
they want a separate monitor mix

I think the Roland AC-60 would serve as an excellent amplifier. (22lbs)

The Roland AC-90 would also work, and provide a little better sound, but
at the cost of more weight.

They are pole mountable and provide for two discrete inputs, so a small
mixer may be required. Good mixers are pretty inexpensive.
Another option is some light weight 8" or 10" powered speakers.

Hi folks,
A local English country dance group has noticed that I use lightweight PA
systems for all of my smaller gigs. They have asked me to advise them
about which products are available that are easy to carry and lift, and
will cost them (hopefully much) less than $1,000. This would be a mixer
and 2 speakers. I would think they are looking for speakers lighter than
20 pounds.
They dance in a hall that is approximately 25 x40 with very good
acoustics, and their average attendance is 30 quiet dancers.
I own two very lightweight systems which I do not think will satisfy them
(Custom PA 50 and DB K300).
They work fine for my family and community dances, but the English dance
community is looking for higher quality sound.
