I think the Roland AC-60 would serve as an excellent amplifier. (22lbs)

The Roland AC-90 would also work, and provide a little better sound, but at
the cost of more weight.

They are pole mountable and provide for two discrete inputs, so a small
mixer may be required. Good mixers are pretty inexpensive.
Another option is some light weight 8" or 10" powered speakers.

They work fine for my family and community dances, but the English dance
community is looking for higher quality sound.
