Given the simplicity of the following, I expect to confirm they already
exist... but thought I'd check in with the knowledgeable horde here on SW.
This is something I apparently "wrote" over a year ago but found again
during a files dive today. :) I expect I may have put it aside due to no
Neighbor swing in the first pass. Spun off w/another A2 to address that
just now, below.
Revisiting them in light of the great heat we've had locally, they might be
sweet lower exertion dances with the right tunes. And lack of a second
swing can be a "feature" vs. "bug" in such conditions.
Please let me know the real author(s), should it not be me. :)
Thanks,

Hello all. In addition to the lovely Du Quoin Races dance by Orace Johnson, are you familiar with any other box circulate dances that you could share? Thanks!
Vicki MorrisonTallahassee, FL
Hi All:
The dance Ron is referring to is:
Silent Partner
Becket-L, 4/4/15
A1. 8 L diagonal
circle L ¾
8 N1 swing
A2. 8 R and L through
2,6 Ladies
pull by R, partner allemande L 1¼ to long waves (1)
B1. 4,4 Balance,
gents cross and ladies loop R to long waves (2)
4,4 Balance,
ladies cross and gents loop R to long waves (3)
B2. 4,4 Balance
R and L, slide/spin R
8 Partner
swing
This
way of combining box circulates and Rory spins is new, and it means partners
circulate in different boxes even though they start the waves together.
(1)
– With ladies facing out and gents facing in, partner in L and Sh1, the silent
partner, in R.
(2)
– With gents facing out and ladies facing in, N1 in R and N0 in L.
(3)
– With ladies facing out and gents facing in, Sh1 in R and Sh2 in L.
I also agree with John Sweeney that the circulate balances should be balanced forward and back - Bob Date: Tue, 19 Jul 2016 16:54:17 -0400

If you feel like mixing Box Circulate with Rory, here are two I've written and called:
http://contradances.tumblr.com/post/117811884210/astral-navigationhttp://contradances.tumblr.com/post/117812007820/playground-stomp
Bob Isaacs also has a really nice Rory/Box Circulate mix, which I don't have the notes for.
I would always include in the notation the fact that the balances for a Box
Circulate are MUCH more satisfying if they are Forward & Back - that sets
you up with the right momentum to cross the set.
I really wish callers would specify the direction of every balance; for
instance if the next move is Allemande Left, then balancing Left/Right is
much better than Right/Left (which leaves you too close to the person you
are Allemanding).
Spinning as you cross the set in a Box Circulate is also fun, and much
easier to do if you have balanced Forward & Back.
:-)
Happy dancing,
John

Agreed. Once around is hard enough to get done in 8 counts sometimes.

Hi Ann,
Circle left 1+1/4 in my experience will take at least 10-12 counts.
Perhaps consider:
A1: long lines forward, rollaway neighbor on the way back
circle left 3/4
Yoyo Zhou
Especially if it's a dance for new dancers who aren't giving strong enough weight in their circles!
