Don’t know if you’re open to including squares, but whenever a series dance falls on April 15 I trot out the ever-popular Taxes Star.

Thanks.

It's called Cows are Watching by Bill Pope. Note also that it's becket. Great dance! Yes, Cary Ravitz has a "Ravitized" version of it on his site.
There's a YouTube video with Cis Hinkle calling it at Mentone in 2012 that I made.

I saw a dance I liked on a mail list and tried it. However, there was one move
I wanted to change. In trying to change that move I found that I had
completely changed the whole dance!
It works in my living room. Does it work for you? What else is similar?
SLINGSHOT
Longways improper
A1 Balance the ring, Petronella; partner swing
A2 Men pull by left and courtesy turn with neighbor; men gypsy left
B1 Neighbor gypsy right; neighbor swing
B2 Circle left 3 place, partner roll away; men lead partner along the set into
circle left 3 places with next couple
NB: The beginning of A2 is the mirror image of a ladies chain - men pull by
left, courtesy turn with partner, men moving forward and ladies backward.

Hello fellow callers!
I am preparing a very short program of advanced or challenging contras which
I will be leading at the Down East Festival next week. This will be one of
many festival offerings during the weekend of March 24-25. I have done a
challenging session at several past festivals and have a small collection of
dances that I think are both moderately challenging and fun to dance. (I
also have a few that I will never call again!) I have not added to my list
for quite a while and would appreciate any suggestions that any of you would
be kind enough to share. I will not be doing any other formations than
duple or becket dances, although I understand that there are many other fun
formations.
If you could include the complete choreography and any teaching or other
tips that would be very helpful. I always credit the dance authors, so
please include that information as well.
Thanks so much! This list is a great resource to have.

I'm one of the lucky people who attended Andy's workshop in Durham in 2011.
Although I hit a wall 9or two) earlier than most people in the group I had
a great time. Andy is an excellent teacher and made it all lots of fun, if
overwhelming at times. If my August wasn't already filled up, I'd
seriously consider doing this again. (Never did get to a local MWSD in the
area although a few of us thought we would.)

I attempted to call modern western at Pinewoods and then latter Buff.
Gap (in the early 90s). Unfortunately there was always one person
that wasn't up for it. One person in each class had a very hard time
learning the new moves while the rest of the class had no difficulty
at all.
So I had to drastically change my plan and expectations.
Tom
Jeremy,
I would not even attempt that. I might look at 10 popular calls that are
unique to MWSD and attempt to cover those. Serving a good appetizers is
better than serving a terrible buffet.
