With an iMic you can capture the sound with QuickTime. Under the File menu there’s an
option to capture a sound recording, and you need to go choose Microphone from your Pref
Pan.
Plug the iMic into the cassette player and into the Mic imput port on your Mac.
It’s very time consuming. Has to be done in real time - sitting there tending the casette
as it plays. You also need a huge hard drive because the sound files are very large.
I think you can edit them in Garage Band.
If I were rich I’d pay someone with a professional studio to crank the files out and burn
CDs of them. Then learn Garage Band to edit the CDs into segments you want.

Folks,
I wonder whether any of you can offer advice about digitizing
a collection of cassette tape recordings.
