Hi Donna,
I don’t know what the Irish call it, but these are some names I know of:
The Wedding Cake Swing
The Sweetheart Swing
The 19th Century Waltz Hold Swing
Happy dancing,

Subject: [trad-dance-callers] Swing with arms arched over top
Hi All:
I learned a swing from Irish dancing, but don't remember what it's called.
It's the swing with the left hands joined and arched over the heads of the dancers and
the right hands on each others waists. I call it the "ceili" swing...what would
you call it?
Donna
