Hi folks
I got a call yesterday from a woman who spent SEVEN hours searching for a
square dance caller for an annual event in the most beautiful area of the
high peaks of the Adirondack Mountains, about two hours from where I live.
She could not find me in a web search *(very distressing to me)*. She used
"square dance caller" as the search query, and gig masters kept coming up
on top.
I found one caller listed for my region in that site. Then I stumbled upon
GigSalad (when I searched on square dance callers) and found several
callers for my region (within 3 hours of where I live).
My nephew approached me with the idea of doing Google Ads, which simply
puts you at or near the top of any search for square dance caller or
something similar. He uses it for his business, and it has gotten him a
decent amount of work.
So, my question is whether any of you have used any of these strategies.
And if so, have any of them helped you get more of the types of gigs that
you like to do, and how are the economics of these products? I know at
least two or three of you on our list are signed up for GigSalad
I just finished the signing up for Google Ads this morning.
