Hello Dudley,
I have several of your publications, but not sure if I have "OK, Let's Try
a Contra", but the title sounds familiar. All my books are in the basement
waiting to be sorted. Lots of work, not so much energy.
I have no control over PP or Trad Callers, but there are really no rules
for the Facebook Page. So far it is a private group because my hope is for
video links of Family/Community Dances, and I am not sure about publically
posting video links with children.
I used the term "family friendly" as a way to describe the intent of our
group. Circles, squares, longways, all good. The Cornwall dance is a good
model. Amherst just started a family dance for age 3 and up; the first one
was great. Simplicity is what I am hoping for. My own dance is square
centric but evolving with more mixers and longways. Occasionally an easy
contra.
Peace,
Rich

Something got on, so I guess that worked.
Rich, some of the folks who read and post on PP and Trad Callers, may not
do FB and vise-versus. What are the rules, if any, for posting stuff all
three places?
Do you have a copy of my collection OKAY , LET’S TRY A CONTRA? Got a few
Whole Set figgers in it.
We’ve really got to define what a Community Dance is. There aren’t many,
if any, around these days. They are either all Square Dances, modern or
old time, all Contra Dances, mostly modern, or private parties like
weddings or family reunions.
Cheers, Dudley

At the suggestion of a friend, I have decided to change the Faceboook
Page to a Facebook Group. The group is simply called "Community Dance" and
this link should lead you there.

Hello folks,
I have set up a "Community Dance" Facebook Page as a place to share
family friendly community dances with each other. My expectation is that
the page will be a place to swap dances, and to provide information
regarding caller/leader training opportunities.
This page is not intended as a discussion group, nor is it intended for
sharing contra or complicated square dances, but rather for sharing dances
that children can easily succeed in.
Since I am a visual learner, I hope that users will provide both links
to videos, and written descriptions of dances whenever possible.
I have reposted a link from a caller gathering this past weekend led by
Patricia Campbell as the first dance to share.
I am practically computer illiterate, so if any of you gurus want to
help make the page useful and attractive. please reach out.
Thanks,
Rich
