Thank you all so much.
Without a forensic review of your contributions (as I write), I
appreciated the:
encouragement to take these on, expressions of fun folks find calling
these dances and the inclusion of them in a program, the chorus/figure
relationship analogy, comments on choice of phrased or unphrased (and
the inherent flexibility allowed, by either I suppose), styles of music,
specific dance names/examples, direct offers of assistance, and more.
I've looked up some of the dances and have had a start on mapping them.
Dancing Morris I'm familiar with the Chorus / Figure pattern. Calling
ONS I'm now pretty familiar with unphrased. <grin> I've visited the Sq.
Dance History project before, however will look at it in new light.
I'll also be combing future and previous posts for ideas on the subject.
Questions along the way to follow.
Much appreciated.
Cheers, John
