The very same person - but known more in the Scottish dance scene than English or Irish.
However he is a dance researcher, interpreter and scholar. He has some authoritative and
definitive works published. And he worked with Tom and Joan Flett on promoting traditional
(non-RSCDS) Scottish dancing. Chris B.

I think this is the same Hugh Thurston who taught me
Maths at Bristol
University in 1957/8. He also ran the Undergraduate
Scottish Dance
Group.
