I've seen that sort of thing on the Chicago group's page. I tend not to
approve a request if the person has no other friends in the group, or if
the profile looks "off" - very few friends, no photos, from a place far
away from Chicago (why would you be interested in our dance?)

We have had the same thing happen for a number of
years.
We approved the first few and they quickly posted about selling shoes etc.
Therefore, we now reject such requests.

Hi organizers.
The Rochester NY Contra Dancers FB page is getting a few join requests
per week from people in other countries, from accounts that have very
recently been created and have only a very few, if any, friends or other
groups joined.
We are leery of trolls who intend to disrupt the group, and have been
rejecting them.
I was wondering if other group pages are receiving similar requests, and
what they have done about it.
Thanks,
Bob Fabinski
