Many groups (at least here in the DC/Baltimore area) give 2nd dance free coupons to new
dancers. What we don't do is track how many of these we give out. We do keep track of
how many come in though, so we can't say. As a door person at the Glen Echo Friday
Night Dance, I can say that on a given week we get roughly 5-10 2nd dance free coupons
redeemed, but our new dancer workshops usually number between 50 to 100 (with maybe 10-15
of these being experienced dancer helpers).

We discussed this in Asheville, but we don't have an easy way to measure
it. (We get 250 people at our dances.) Do you?

Hi folks
I was wondering if you have ever thought about the percentage of people
who try out a contra dance at a regular series and come back any time
within the next 6 months or so to another contra dance.
Would you say it's 2%? 5%? 10%?
Obviously, it can't be very high, otherwise you'd be overrun with dancers!
I think this topic has come up before but I'm getting tired of spending
all day at my computer and searches take so long anyway.......
