Hi again fellow organizers :)
<snip>
When you mention the raising of funds through a
weekend like NEFFA, is that
specific to the food or do the assets of the weekend as a whole go back to
various dance series???
Just the food booths, which NEFFA invites in the vicinity of five to
ten independent organizations or vendors to provide the service of
food for a festival population of somewhere above one thousand people
a day.
Those food providers take home the net profits of their food booth
resulting from their labor. More than one non-NEFFA dance organization
operates a food booth as a fundraising activity for their own
activity. Having a popular menu, and volunteers working a booth make
for a successful (in terms of net gain in money) effort.
The NEFFA Festival itself tends to operate variably at break even, and
a net loss, and that organization has learned to do a variety of
creative fundraising activities to support the festival, including
offering the opportunity to participate via a $5,000 magnanimous NEFFA
membership.
