Boy was your last sentence correct.
I was going to answer this e mail, but I did not know the rules.
However, I like the way they are now. I would hate to sit though a board
discussion to clarify them. My feeling about how it works now is: if it
aint broke, don't fix it.
I thought we cleaned up during the first dance after the break.
You left out the part that not only does it matter who is at the door, it
matters who wants to come in.

Our policy states: "People arriving during the
waltz before the break up to
when you put things away pay half the regular price." People arriving at
that point will get to dance less than half the evening - the break is
around 9:30 in an 8 - 10:45 dance. We let the people working the admissions
table close up during the second dance after the break (since there is very
little activity and we like to be kind to volunteers), so naturally there
is no charge after that point. I would admit that there is not universal
knowledge of or agreement with these policies among those enforcing them.

What is your dance's admission price structure?
Does that admission price drop at any point in the evening?
If so, when (at what point)?
What is the rationale for either (a) dropping the price or (b) keeping
the
same price in effect for duration of the entire
dance? (Why do you do
what you do?)
We're having a committee conversation about our practice, and I'm curious
what others do and why.
