We started with a (paper) account book, then moved to Quicken, and are transitioning to
Quick Books after becoming a non-profit 501c3 corporation.

Subject: [Organizers] Accounting Tools
From: organizers(a)lists.sharedweight.net
What tool(s) are used to track your club's expenses?
At the first Puttin' on the Dance in 2011 in White River Junction, I heard Rob
Lindauer present how the Hartford Dance does it. They have a great alignment across the
different dances through the use of a common spreadsheet format for reporting the event
results. In addition, they use Quicken for the tax accounting. While our organization
doesn't have to file the detailed tax returns (well not yet), I think it'd be good
to organize our accounting so it will be easier when the time comes. It doesn't look
like Quicken would be the best fit for us, so I'm reaching out to see what else is
used.
Thanks!
