What do people think about New Events that conflict
with an existing dance series?
The ideal situation for adding an event is that you grow the
community, bringing in dancers who wouldn't have come to the existing
times, places, or communities, who get to experience the dancing we
all love. There's usually some amount of "cannibalism", where a new
event pulls dancers from other events, but as long as you focus on
bringing people into the larger contra dance community it doesn't
matter as much which dances grow or shrink.
