Welcome to the AltChoreo listserv. This space was first created for discussion of traditional dance (contra, ECD, community, family dance) changed for virtual spaces during the COVID19 pandemic. It is also great for discussion of safe but physically distanced outdoor dances. Other creative ideas are welcome here. This list is a safe space. We encourage creative, respectful, and spirited discussion of ideas. We encourage discussion about new ways of thinking about traditional choreography, both in the home over virtual space as well as physically distanced. Name calling and hurtful, disrespectful, or aggressive language is prohibited. We prefer not to rehash discussions about role-terminology, positional calling, or racial slurs.
