I believe blobs is originally  a Marion Rose dance.
I seem to have radically altered it.  I try to do it with groups where folks don't have a partner, or want to keep two best friends together.  So I just line them up in a longways set and group them into blobs.  No partner interactions, just blob ones.

A1 F & B  2x

A2 star L & R

B1 Circle L & R

B2 top blob down the center

If the set is really long or the blobs are slow to make stars, I drop the F & B and give them 16 counts to star each way.  Or I keep the stars short and give them extra time to reach the bottom.

Works in a lot of different ways.  Great for school events in a big long gym and lots of groups of kids who don't want to pick partners but want to dance in a clump.
