Phil Jamison's book http://www.philjamison.com/  "Hoedowns, Reels and Frolics"  may wel go into the dates on those recordings.  He has down vast and extensive research into the history of traditional dance in the United States, including old disc recordings of music with calls.  I just started the book, so I cannot tell you for sure.  But it is outstanding writing with great attention to detail and is likely of interest to any who calls southern squares.
